I guess what has happened over the years is a lot of old posts are in HTML format instead of text or UBB. It is kinda hard to read something with all HTML code in the text.
Is there any way to correct this?

There is, but not without considerable risk to the content here. Lots of upgrades and imports and mergers to the software has left us with some of the older posts showing its underwear It would help if I could just get the smilies back in the proper format.
